<p>Smartwatches are widely adopted personal wearable devices and increasingly essential. In this study, we established wireless patient monitoring using a smartwatch in a radiation-controlled area. We enrolled patients who underwent positron emission tomography/computed tomography and monitored these patients in a prospective cohort pilot study. Patients wore the Galaxy Watch 6 and were monitored via an established Internet of Medical Things system. The measurements of heart rate and peripheral capillary oxygen saturation recorded by the smartwatch were compared with those from portable medical devices. After monitoring, the patient’s satisfaction was evaluated via questionnaire. The smartwatch showed good overall agreement with portable patient monitoring medical devices. During the monitoring period, healthcare professionals were successfully notified of patients with abnormal vital signs. The system also achieved a high level of satisfaction. Smartwatches demonstrated feasibility for wireless monitoring in radiation-controlled areas with acceptable results and high levels of patient satisfaction.</p>
