Microwave-assisted eco-friendly synthesis of carbon quantum dots derived Cichorium intybus for fluorometric detection of cefdinir

Green carbon quantum dots (CQDs) with minimal environmental damage can be used as a fluorescent probe. Owing to their non-toxicity and high solubility in water, they can play a significant role in environmental monitoring and water safety. Here, a straightforward hydrothermal process using a home microwave was used to create CQDs using chicory leaves known as Cichorium Intybus. The probe was used for the determination of cefdinir (CFD) in various samples such as biological and pharmaceuticals to verify the practicality of the proposed method. The CQDs showed a fluorescence with the wavelength varying from 375 to 500 nm and the maximum emission wavelength being at 419 nm.
