<p>Two cicada species, <i>Dundubia rafflesii</i> Distant and <i>Dundubia rufivena</i> Walker (Hemiptera: Cicadidae), are reported for the first time as pests of sugarcane (<i>Saccharum officinarum</i> L.) in Indonesia. Prior to this paper, there was no documented evidence of cicadas as pests of sugarcane plantations in Indonesia. This paper is the first report documenting the invasion of cicadas in the sugarcane plantations in Indonesia. The feeding habits and infestation rates of these two insect pests are shown, and some integrated pest management strategies are proposed. Our study highlights the need to conduct further research and create appropriate management techniques to prevent wider spread and its impacts. Morphological identification of both species was further supported by mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) barcode sequences, which have been deposited in GenBank under accession numbers PZ507022 and PZ507023.</p>
