<p>The crickets, <i>Gryllus bimaculatus</i> is a nutritionally valuable insect widely utilized in agricultural production as a high-quality protein source and an emerging resource species. However, the absence of a sequenced genome has limited exploration of its biological characteristics and population genetics. In this study, we generated a chromosome-level genome assembly for <i>G. bimaculatus</i> using PacBio HiFi and Hi-C technologies, yielding a 1,655.48 Mb genome with scaffold N50 of 111.16 Mb and contig N50 of 4.08 Mb. BUSCO analysis demonstrated 98.7% completeness, with repetitive sequences constituting 41.80% of the assembly. A total of 14,457 protein-coding genes were annotated. This high-quality genome assembly provides a valuable resource for investigating the genetic basis of local adaptation and developing effective management strategies.</p>
