The legacy of the INTEGRAL mission
摘要
The International Gamma Ray Astrophysics Laboratory (INTEGRAL) is a European Space Agency multiwavelength astronomical observatory optimized for large-field γ-ray imaging, timing and spectroscopy, complemented by smaller-field X-ray and optical monitoring cameras, operating from a large orbit allowing long uninterrupted observations providing an invaluable legacy of data. The purpose of this Review is to provide an overview of the many research fields in which INTEGRAL has made important contributions, including but not limited to nuclear synthesis, supernova modelling and cyclotron line studies. With this, we hope to encourage future generations to explore INTEGRAL’s legacy catalogues and data archive for further results.
