Donald Hayes Norman (1919–2009): dentist, clinical photographer and dental public health entrepreneur

Donald Norman spent most of his professional life working in school and public dental health services. He was passionate about improving clinic services for children and the development of dental health education programmes. Don was an enthusiastic photographer and used his skills to record treatments and research. He brought them to the attention of the profession through a series of journal articles. At one time he was interested in researching how tongue surfaces changed with vitamin intakes. He was involved in formation of the British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry and was its second president.
