<p>This study introduces a method for the non-invasive extraction of proteinaceous binders from painted artifacts using high-acyl gellan gums combined with urea, acetic acid, and Tris buffer. The aim is to preserve the integrity of artifacts while enhancing the efficiency of extracting aged proteins. The results demonstrate that gellan gum with urea has minimal impact on the macroscopic and microscopic surface properties, pH, contact angle, color difference, and internal structure of the painted artifacts. Additionally, the proteomic analysis is highly effective. This method offers the advantages of simple preparation and a concise sampling procedure, requiring only ten minutes for binder extraction. Given its non-invasive nature, this technique has the potential to become a valuable tool for non-invasive extraction of proteinaceous binders in painted artifacts.</p>
