Parodontitis Stadium IV und Hypermobilität (Falltyp 1)
摘要
Stage IV periodontitis is characterized by extensive loss of periodontal supporting structures, resulting in functional impairment including increased tooth mobility, compromised masticatory performance, tooth migration, and tooth loss. Case type 1 refers to patients presenting with hypermobile teeth due to secondary occlusal trauma, yet without an indication for prosthetic rehabilitation. This article outlines the diagnostic criteria for stage IV periodontitis, examines the etiological factors contributing to increased tooth mobility, and discusses the role of splinting therapy across the various phases of structured periodontal treatment. Furthermore, it summarizes the current guideline recommendations for managing patients with stage IV periodontitis and reviews the available scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of splinting.
