Hulless Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) Variety DWRB 223
摘要
A hulless barley variety DWRB 223 has been developed for North Western Plain Zone, which can provide much needed raw material for health foods. The variety has an average yield of 42.96q/ha and is resistant to stripe rust. The grains have average beta glucan content of 6.0%, a compound clinically shown to be beneficial in management of blood sugar and cholesterol levels. The variety can serve as an excellent raw material for multi-grain products.
