摘要

Jacquemontia barbieri (Convolvulaceae) is a new native species currently known to be endemic to the Brazilian Amazon. It is morphologically close to J. gabrielii, with both species bearing very large flowers compared to other species of the genus (> 3 cm). The distinction between them is discussed. We present macro- and micromorphological (anatomy and palynology) descriptions, as well as illustrations, light and scanning electron microscopy images, a distribution map, conservation status, and an updated identification key for the species of Jacquemontia occurring in the Brazilian Amazon.
