<p>We present a heuristic for the error in the output of holographic associative memory while using the basic training regime, and propose a new formula for the normalisation coefficient used during recalling. We conduct experiments to measure the adequacy of our heuristic, and also to look at the effect of symmetrisation and expansion, while using mainly visual stimuli with responses encoded as codewords of Reed–Muller codes.</p>
