摘要

In this article, we will discuss the published research on the reutilization of dredged sediments, their uses in the construction field, and especially their potential use as partial substitutions for cement in the manufacture of new concretes. Physical-chemical studies, mechanical strength, and life cycle assessment (LCA) have showed the possibilities of these sediments as a raw material in the civil engineering field. Materials based on these partial substitutions, such as pastes, mortars and concrete, can consume these dredged substances, improving the performance and characteristics of the end product. The last part highlights the LCA studies of dredged sediments worldwide and the environmental impact assessments of contaminated sediments. Finally, a general conclusion will highlight the main results and prospects for future work.
