<p><i>Rosa canina</i> has a long history of use as a natural remedy for a variety of diseases, which contributes to its appeal. The main goal of the current review is to list and compile available data on <i>Rosa canina’</i>s traditional uses, chemically active constituents, and chemical and biological functions. To do this, various databases, including Google Scholar, MDPI, Elsevier, Springer, and PubMed were checked to gather different articles used to prepare this review using the following keywords: <i>Rosa canina</i>, rosehip, <i>Rosa canina</i> and antioxidant capacity, <i>Rosa canina</i> and biological characteristics, <i>Rosa canina</i> and chemical properties, and <i>Rosa canina</i> and phytochemical profile. <i>Rosa canina</i> has a special chemical composition with a range of different structures, natural properties, and potent anti-disease effects. <i>Rosa canina</i>’s phytochemistry contains gallic acid, vanillic acid, protocatechuic acid, syringic acid, ellagic acid, rutin, catechin and so on. The use of <i>Rosa canina</i> has demonstrated potential in preclinical studies, including diabetes, cancer, and inflammation and inhibit them altogether. <i>Rosa canina</i> is an intriguing raw material for variety businesses, including the food, cosmetic, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical sectors.</p>
