<p><i>Nothoscordum gracile</i> (Aiton) Stearn, commonly known as 'False garlic', is a member of the family Amaryllidaceae. It grows prolifically in the fields and resembles cultivated garlic. This communication marks the first observation of <i>Nothoscordum gracile</i>, an invasive weed from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The species was observed thriving along roadsides and lawns at elevation ranging from 300 to 550&#xa0;m above sea level. Standard protocols were followed for processing the species for herbarium deposition and it was preserved in the Herbarium facility of the Department of Botany (HBJU) at the University of Jammu, Jammu. A detailed taxonomic description and photographs of the species are being provided in this communication.</p>
