TBHP-assisted synthesis of quinazolines and quinazolinones using fabricated nano-ZnO catalyst
摘要
This study presents the heterogeneously catalyzed synthesis of quinazolines and quinazolinones utilizing nano-sized ZnO particles synthesized via a direct precipitation method. The structures, morphology, and catalytic properties of these fabricated ZnO nanoparticles were characterized using XRD, SEM, TEM, FT-IR, and TGA techniques. The ZnO nanoparticle catalyst exhibited high activity and selectivity in the oxidative cyclization of anthranilamides with alcohols, employing TBHP as the oxidant. Various quinazolinones were produced in moderate to good yields under identical conditions. This protocol demonstrates a broad substrate scope, making it suitable for both primary/secondary aromatic and alkyl alcohols. The potential catalytic utility of these ZnO nanoparticles positions them as an attractive option for sustainable industrial chemistry.
