摘要

The incorporation of the dengue vaccine into the Brazilian public health system, after approval by the National Health Surveillance Agency (NHSA), may reduce the incidence of severe cases of this arbovirus and related hospitalizations. This commentary critically examines the integration of Qdenga into Brazil’s public health strategy in light of the epidemiological, socioeconomic, and logistical challenges to be overcome. To achieve this goal, it is essential to promote a broad discussion between government and society about the efficacy of this vaccine, its side effects, and limitations to ensure greater adherence by the population. Thus, this technological incorporation has broad political implications, involving public health decisions, budgetary priorities, and impacts on trust in institutions permeated by a growing multilateral demand for greater investments in its acquisition, storage, distribution, and professional training, in a sustainable manner.
