摘要

Fibroepithelial polyps (FEP) of the urinary tract are benign tumors that can cause ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) in pediatric patients. FEP present a significant diagnostic challenge due to their nonspecific symptoms. This narrative review summarizes recent findings on FEP in children. Diagnostic imaging, including ultrasound, computed tomography, and intravenous pyelography, play a critical role in identifying FEP, although limitations exist in differentiating FEP from malignant tumors. Treatment approaches vary based on the polyp’s size and location, ranging from surgical excision to minimally invasive techniques. Further research is needed to enhance diagnostics and treatment, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
