Background and aims <p>This study provides a comprehensive analysis of Research in Glioma and Innovative Neurosurgery (RGIN) from 1984 to 2024, with the aim of uncovering key trends, collaborations, and influential contributors in the field. By employing co-word analysis, bibliographic coupling, and collaboration mapping techniques, this study sought to identify key developments of RGIN.</p> Methods <p>Co-word analysis and bibliographic coupling were used to identify thematic clusters and influential entities within RGIN. Collaboration-mapping techniques were employed to assess international cooperation patterns. Key institutions, countries, journals, and scholars were analyzed to understand their contributions and their impact on the field. The annual growth rate of the research output was calculated to gauge the progress in the field over the analyzed period.</p> Results <p>The findings revealed prominent institutions such as Inserm and Tokyo Women’s Medical University, leading countries such as the United States and Germany, and influential journals such as World Neurosurgery. Notable scholars, such as Ganslandt and Nimsky, have emerged as key contributors. Strong international collaborations, particularly among Western nations, have been observed, signaling a network of shared expertise driving advancements in glioma surgery and neurosurgery.</p> Conclusion <p>This study underscores the progressive nature of research in RGIN, highlighting the global distribution of research output, impact of influential entities, and ongoing evolution of the field. Recommendations include further exploration of emerging trends and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient outcomes and drive innovation in neurosurgical interventions.</p>
