<p>The global construction industry increasingly focuses on enhancing energy efficiency, designing high-performance structures, and achieving sustainability in the built environment. Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its 6D capabilities offer powerful tools to address these challenges. This study investigates the sustainability of a typical residential building located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, through the application of BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit 2020, Autodesk Insight360, and Green Building Studio. An energy model for the building was developed in Autodesk Revit following the ASHRAE Standard 90.1 guidelines for climate zone 1A, with subsequent energy simulations conducted in Green Building Studio and Autodesk Insight360. The research incorporates local codes (BNBC 2020), literature reviews, and prevailing Bangladeshi design practices to assess energy consumption and sustainability performance. Based on the simulation results, the study identifies optimal building parameters using Autodesk Insight360, suggesting a potential 7.2% reduction in Energy Use Intensity (EUI), from a baseline mean of 306 kWh/m<sup>2</sup>/year to 284 kWh/m<sup>2</sup>/year, compared to the ASHRAE 90.1 baseline for residential buildings in the Dhaka region.</p>
