<p>The study examined the extent of ceramic waste accumulation, the challenges associated with its disposal, and potential sustainable solutions. Qualitative research approach was employed for this study. The purposive sampling technique was used to select the dumpsites and fifteen (15) respondents comprising: three (3) environmental experts, two (2) waste management officers, five (5) artisans or potters, and five (5) dumpsite waste pickers. Instruments used for collecting data were observations and interviews. Document analysis was applied to review government policies, academic literature, and environmental reports to provide historical and regulatory context. Findings revealed among others, that ceramic waste management was hindered by lack of recycling initiatives, high disposal costs, and competition from alternative materials such as plastic and metal. The study identified sustainable solutions including: the reuse of crushed ceramic waste in construction, redirecting ceramic waste for mosaic and sculptural works, policy interventions to encourage recycling, and educational initiatives to promote sustainable ceramic practices. The research highlighted the need for government support, industry collaboration, and community engagement to integrate ceramic waste management into Ghana’s broader environmental sustainability efforts. Future studies could explore cost-effective recycling technologies and market-driven approaches to ceramic waste reuse.</p>
