Rolle der Hausarztpraxis in der Versorgung von Frauen in den Wechseljahren – Informationsbedarf, Herausforderungen und Versorgungsstrategien
摘要
Menopausal symptoms affect many women and are often perceived as stressful. While utilisation of general practice (GP) services remains consistently high, gynaecological utilisation decreases with age. Therefore, GPs play a central role in the care of menopausal women.
ObjectivesThe study examines the information needs of menopausal women in GP practices and analyses possible care strategies regarding the lack of resources.
Materials and methodsA cross-sectional study was conducted with 180 women (45–60 years). Data were collected with a semi-structured questionnaire, which was completed before contacting the doctor. The data were statistically analysed using SPSS (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA).
ResultsAround 50% of women would like more information about the menopause from their GP. There is a correlation between symptom severity, desire for information and GP visit. For 57.1% of the women, a discussion with specially trained nonmedical staff would be conceivable.
ConclusionCommunication that is not adapted to actual needs often makes targeted, symptom-oriented treatment more difficult. The greater involvement of nurse practitioners or physician assistants could facilitate the removal of taboos and strengthen women’s health literacy. In view of the lack of resources available to GPs, delegation models involving nonphysician specialists could be an effective solution.
