摘要

This study examines the patterns of digital and traditional political participation among young people in the context of Turkey’s upcoming local elections, with a particular focus on the intricate interplay between different modes of engagement. Data were collected from 616 university students across multiple institutions in Turkey and analyzed using the psychometric network approach—a methodological innovation increasingly employed to uncover the interrelations between psychological attributes and behavioral tendencies. The results reveal that youth political participation in Turkey is multifaceted and shaped by a web of dynamic associations. While digital and traditional forms of engagement appear to function largely as distinct domains, the analysis also uncovers significant internal linkages within each mode. Based on these insights, the study offers concrete recommendations for enhancing democratic engagement and fostering increased youth participation in Turkey’s political processes
