摘要

Hydrodynamic cloaking has emerged as a promising strategy for manipulating fluid flow around objects to achieve drag reduction and flow invisibility. Previous reviews have often treated it as a subcategory of broader hydrodynamic metamaterials research, lacking a systematic discussion of hydrodynamic cloaking. To foster its practical development, a dedicated and systematic review of hydrodynamic cloaking is essential. This review comprehensively examines the theoretical principles and recent advances in this field, highlighting the field-effect electro-osmosis theory in Hele-Shaw configurations. By analyzing potential applications, current limitations and prospects, this review aims to provide valuable insights for future developments in the hydrodynamic cloaking field and to facilitate the transition of hydrodynamic cloaking towards practical implementations in fields ranging from bioengineering to military technology.
