Fluoridlacke in der Kariesprävention
摘要
Resin-based fluoride varnishes with 22,600 ppm fluoride are highly effective in caries prevention. On average, with 2–4 applications per year, caries inhibition of 43% in permanent dentition and 37% in primary dentition is achieved. The varnishes are also highly effective for children with an increased risk of caries. Within the framework of statutory health insurance (BEMA), fluoride varnishes can be applied to primary dentition up to four times a year from the eruption of the first deciduous tooth, regardless of the risk of caries (BEMA position FLA). For insured persons between the ages of 6 and 18, the benefit can be billed twice a year and four times a year if there is a high risk of caries (BEMA position IP4). Resin-based fluoride varnishes harden when exposed to moisture. They therefore do not require absolute dryeness and are easy to apply. This and their low application frequency also make them a preferred fluoridating agent in group prophylaxis in schools and kindergartens.
