Bedeutung der zahnärztlichen Prophylaxe während und nach der Schwangerschaft
摘要
The foundations for healthy behaviour in adulthood are laid during childhood and adolescence, with parents playing a guiding role. This highlights the need for early intervention and prevention involving the mother and family. Early intervention programs that begin during pregnancy and continue into later stages of life have proven to be most effective. Although a general decline in caries has been observed in Germany in recent years, there has been no significant reduction among young children. The causes lie partly in sociodemographic developments, socioeconomic status, education and a lack of dental care. Therefore, interdisciplinary cooperation between gynaecologists, midwives, paediatricians and dentists should help to improve dental and oral health among pregnant women.
