Direkte Kompositrestaurationen an bleibenden Zähnen im Front- und Seitenzahnbereich: S3-Leitlinie
摘要
Last year, the guideline “Direct composite restorations” was published for the first time as an S3 guideline. It only includes permanent restorations. Since direct composite restorations play a significant role in paediatric dentistry, the recommendations are of great importance for our discipline. This article will therefore present key aspects of the guideline from the perspective of paediatric dentistry. Based on a systematic literature search and evaluation, the experts were able to make the following consensus-based recommendations, among others:
1. Composite restorations can be used for direct restorations in class I and II cavities.
2. Composite restorations can be used for cavities with cusp replacements in the posterior region.
3. Direct composite materials should be used for the restoration of class III and IV defects.
4. Direct composite materials should be used for tooth shape corrections in the anterior region.
The guideline favors direct composite restorations for the treatment of defects on permanent teeth in paediatric dentistry in particular, with very good data for the most part.
