Food sovereignty as a path to resilient Mediterranean food systems
摘要
This comment examines how Greece’s prolonged polycrisis, a period of overlapping economic, social and environmental crises, provided a real-world laboratory for food system resilience. It documents how grassroots food sovereignty initiatives emerged as survival strategies, demonstrating a viable alternative to vulnerable, import-dependent models. The manuscript reframes food sovereignty as a pragmatic risk management strategy, offering a blueprint for building equitable and sustainable food systems across the Mediterranean.
