Schmerzhafte diabetische Neuropathie
摘要
Diabetic neuropathy comprises a heterogeneous spectrum of disorders of the peripheral nervous system, with distal symmetric polyneuropathy representing the most common manifestation. Sensory, motor, and autonomic symptoms are the predominant clinical features. The most important risk factors include inadequate glycemic control, long duration of diabetes, and cardiometabolic comorbidities. Diagnosis is based on medical history, clinical examination, and, when indicated, additional diagnostic testing. Therapeutic management focuses on optimizing metabolic control, lifestyle modification, and patient education. In addition, symptomatic treatment of neuropathic pain is an essential component of care and should follow a multimodal, evidence-based approach. Treatment should be individualized according to the needs of the patient.
