<p>A&#xa0;post-mortem organ donation in which death is only determined after circulatory arrest is known as a&#xa0;DCD (Donation after Circulatory Determination of Death). Around 25% of all organ donations worldwide are DCDs, in Austria it is only 10–15%. This article presents the recommended procedure in question-and-answer form.</p>

A post-mortem organ donation in which death is only determined after circulatory arrest is known as a DCD (Donation after Circulatory Determination of Death). Around 25% of all organ donations worldwide are DCDs, in Austria it is only 10–15%. This article presents the recommended procedure in question-and-answer form.
