摘要

For a long time, Austria was an international pioneer in organ transplantation. In recent years, however, the situation has deteriorated drastically. Every year, 50 to 70 people die in Austria while waiting for a donor organ. The reasons for this are, on the one hand, a lack of human resources and, on the other, increasing objections to organ donations from relatives. This makes good communication within the team and with relatives all the more important.
