摘要

The integration of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is reshaping biomedical engineering (BME) education. This paper presents insights from The Fifth Biomedical Engineering Education Summit, which brought together educators from across the U.S. to address challenges and opportunities in integrating GenAI into BME curricula. Key discussions focused on embedding GenAI competencies to meet industry needs, ensuring responsible AI use, and preparing students for AI-driven careers. We explore strategies for equipping students with skills in data science, machine learning, and AI-driven healthcare solutions. Additionally, we examine how GenAI can personalize learning and support educators in developing adaptive materials, while addressing challenges like academic integrity and AI over-reliance. Through a question-response format, we provide practical recommendations for integrating AI into BME education and fostering continuous dialogue as the field evolves.
