摘要

It has become a compelling issue in globalization to ensure that organizations do not harm and destroy the environment, as they are the primary cause of environmental degradation. This has led researchers to place greater emphasis on the determinants of employee green behavior (EGB), an emerging trend in sustainable development and organizational behavior. Notwithstanding the rise in academic attention, past reviews have mostly listed antecedents without sufficiently describing how they impact EGB. Therefore, this paper critically examines the available literature on EGB, focusing on its antecedents. It is also meant to discuss areas of future research gaps. The Scopus journal database was utilized to identify relevant literature. 101 articles were selected as research samples and analyzed through the Preferred Reporting Items of Systematic Review and Meta-Analytic articles. The literature recommends that shaping EGB should focus on its antecedents to enhance sustainability and influence environmental policies. The study of EGB has grown significantly since 2020, driven by global crises, policy changes, and companies' sustainability efforts, all of which are essential to achieving sustainable development outcomes. There are more publications in China than in India in this research. This study identified the best and least discussed variables that influence EGB. This systematic literature review offers valuable insights to the next generation of researchers and provides guidance to organizations and other academic institutions.
