A SAP-LAP integrated e-IRP approach for green hydrogen operations for sustainable mobility
摘要
Transport sector contributes significantly to global emissions, which needs massive transformations for switching to greener modes of transportation. To meet these requirements, green hydrogen emerged as sustainable fuel thus protecting the environment. Although, its adoption is subjected to various challenges including very high production costs, lack of storage, and efficiency issues. Since the concept is novel, it is unclear about various contributing factors for adoption of green hydrogen. Therefore, an attempt has been made to explore and examine factors affecting green hydrogen implementation in the Indian mobility sector. The study presented considered SAP-LAP (Situation-Actor-Process and Learning-Action-Performance) approach to identify and rank variables. The key variables were identified based on extensive literature review and insights from experts across industry, academia, and policymakers. Then, the effective interpretive ranking process (e-IPR) method was applied to rank the identified factors, especially actors and actions, facilitating a systematic analysis of the critical drivers and barriers influencing green hydrogen development in transport. It is observed that government policymakers play crucial role in developing green hydrogen infrastructure and promote investment to drive clean energy. Public awareness campaigns, incentive mechanisms, stakeholder collaboration, Infrastructure investment are reported as pivotal actions. The study also highlights the major challenges like high technology cost, regulatory uncertainty, large scale implementation issues.
