摘要

The bibliometric analysis examines sustainable clothing consumption behaviour from the demand-side perspective. It provides a descriptive overview of publication trends, the most productive and cited countries, influential authors, and affiliations. It also assesses clusters of keywords and themes and co-authorship networks among countries for future research directions. Biblioshiny and VOSviewer were used to determine the 713 articles gathered from Scopus and Web of Science between 2004 and 2024. With an annual growth rate of 28.6%, the results show an upward trend of publications, suggesting a substantial workflow and the study topic’s quick expansion over time. The USA is the most productive and collaborative hub, followed by China and India. However, prevailing research themes are absent within this field. At the same time, sustainability, industry, and social media are broadly connected in research but may require further theoretical or methodological refinement. This study explores recent and future research themes, such as perceived value, purchase intention, sustainability, ethical consumption, and environmental effects, which are emerging as significant areas of interest in consumer behaviour studies. It is also recommended that consumer behaviour in emerging economies be investigated regarding sustainability. Companies can develop sustainable marketing strategies using insights into consumer behaviour and purchasing intentions.
