摘要

Cyclical social innovation embodies a transformative and holistic strategy for tackling multifaceted societal and environmental issues. Despite its significance, academic discourse remains fragmented, with social innovation and the circular economy frequently studied in isolation, thereby missing opportunities for integrated progress. This study aims to bridge this divide by providing a thorough critique and establishing a robust theoretical foundation for understanding cyclical social innovation as a unified phenomenon. Utilising the SPAR-4-SLR protocol, the research systematically identifies, evaluates, and synthesises existing literature to illuminate critical research gaps, methodological limitations, and emerging interdisciplinary trends. The analysis underscores the urgent need for comprehensive frameworks that connect social innovation with circularity principles to facilitate sustainable societal transformation. Furthermore, this study delineates clear avenues for future research and practical implementation, offering scholars and practitioners a detailed roadmap for harnessing cyclical social innovation to address urgent social and environmental challenges. In doing so, it seeks to catalyse collaborative efforts and inspire innovative solutions that advance both theory and practice in this evolving field.
