Role of Consumers in Textile Waste Management Through Circular Fashion Practices: A Systematic Literature Review
摘要
As the linear economy practices have resulted in numerous adverse environmental and social problems, the textile industry has started to adopt circular economy practices through circular fashion practices. To move towards sustainability, the society has shown positive intent to circular fashion products; however, the success of circular fashion products is low. Thus, there is a need to understand the role of consumers in the success of circular fashion products. This study applies bibliometric analysis to the articles collected with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework, systematic literature review (SLR) technique. Descriptive analysis and science mapping were performed on articles dating from January 2013 to December 2024. In descriptive analysis, the publication trends, country-focused, methods used, and citation analysis were performed. Bibliographic coupling analysis generated five clusters, namely, awareness about circular fashion practices, attitude of consumers, barriers to circular fashion practices, impact of promotional policies, and relationship between consumers and stakeholders. These five clusters were analyzed critically, and the future scope of the study has been postulated. Consumers’ perception impacts the purchase intention and willingness to pay for circular fashion products. The findings of the study offer valuable insights and will act as a guide for future works.
