摘要

This study investigates the evolution of green technology and its adoption in resource-constrained small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. Drawing on 228 English-language publications indexed in Scopus between 2016 and 2025; we employed VOS viewer for co-occurrence and cluster analysis and CiteSpace for temporal burst and thematic evolution mapping. Findings reveal ten dominant research clusters, with environmental management, circular economy, and SME innovation forming the intellectual core. Thematic progression is evident—from foundational sustainability frameworks (2016–2019) to digital sustainability and AI integration (2024+). Despite increased scholarly attention, critical limitations persist in cross-regional representation, digital capability development, and SME policy frameworks. This study contributes to both theory and practice by offering a longitudinal research map, identifying knowledge gaps, and outlining future research directions to support sustainable innovation strategies in SMEs.
