<p>Textile and Apparel (T&amp;A) industry is prominently responsible for deteriorating the social and environmental sustainability holding traditional Linear Economy (LE) model. Circular Economy (CE) practices are being developed and initiated in this esteemed fashion industry to maintain sustainability in production, consumption and disposal activities. This research work attempts to examine the barriers towards CE practices implementation in the T&amp;A industry. Through Fuzzy Total Interpretive Structural Modeling (TISM) method, this study has developed a hierarchical framework by connecting CE barriers while Fuzzy Decision Making and Trial Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) approach has resulted in bisecting the CE barriers in cause-and-effect groups and furthermore demonstrated the degree of effect relationship among the barriers. Fuzzy TISM analysis reveals “Inadequate facility infrastructure” as the most crucial barriers indicating that without requisite infrastructural development CE initiation is impracticable. Conversely, “Challenges to reuse and recover materials” has been examined as most impactful barriers in Fuzzy DEMATEL analysis advising that the T&amp;A industry will have to face significant challenges in recovering and reusing materials from wastages. This research work focused on purposive sampling method comprising small focus group from industry and academic experts for influential and causal relationship development in case of T&amp;A industry. For the first time, this study attempts to investigate inter-influential relationship among CE barriers along with their causal relationship in the context of circularity in the Bangladeshi T&amp;A industry. This study has focused the overall scenario of T&amp;A industry to measure the barriers of CE implementation rather than any specific sub-sectorial backward linkages related to this industry. The outcomes from this research work may contribute as a base platform with regards to industrial policy reformation by the stakeholders and government.</p>
