Purpose of Review <p>This review aims to present the potential enhancements in bioactive compounds and health-promoting attributes of stevia and its infusion with various herbs and spices in the form of teas. Stevia, a natural sweetener substitute with a low glycemic index, complements the sensory characteristics and therapeutic benefits when infused with herbal teas.</p> Recent Findings <p>Stevia-infused herbal teas, such as purple corn cob-stevia tea, roasted radish and stevia tea, rosella-stevia tea, cannabis-stevia tea, peppermint-stevia tea, Thai herbal teas and stevia, kombucha culture and stevia- lemongrass-chamomile-spearmint and stevia tea, black tea and stevia, are rich in antioxidants and polyphenols. Blending these nutrient-dense ingredients with stevia enhances natural sweetness and aids in health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, inflammation, and hypertension as they boost the antioxidant and polyphenolic content.</p> Summary <p>This review aims to explore the synergistic effect of stevia with various herbs, focusing on their health benefits, and examining their potential to promote wellness and manage conditions like diabetes and obesity. Additionally, this review discusses the extraction methods of steviol glycosides and emphasizes the comparative analysis of stevia with other sweeteners. The current review also emphasizes the need for research to optimize the formulation and taste of stevia-infused herbal teas while maintaining their health benefits. However, despite being a viable sugar substitute, there is very few research on the impact of stevia on blood sugar, insulin levels, and the bioavailability of compounds, highlighting the need for further research.</p>
