摘要

The global warming and carbon emissions are issues of corporate environmental performance that have gained significance since the signing of the Kyoto Protocol in February 2005. Carbon emission disclosure (CED) is a relatively new concept that has been adopted during the last few years. This paper is a detailed analysis of global research in the CED, the challenges associated with climate change and their impact on companies and seeks to conduct comprehensive research and analysis on the subject, using bibliometric methods of analysis. The dataset includes 437 publications retrieved from the Scopus database, between the year 2004 and 2024. English-language peer-reviewed articles only were used in order to be consistent and comparable in the bibliometric analysis since English is the major language of global scholarly communication. This bibliometric study aims at offering an overview of the current research status on the given topic and revealing the predominant trends in publications, prolific authors, impactful research, well-known journals and prominent countries that serve this topic. In order to examine the intellectual structure of the subject topic in greater detail, we shall do science mapping by using approaches such as term co-occurrence. Therefore, the study’s results will enable researchers to identify any gaps in the current literature, shed light on unexplored areas and shape the course of future research in this specific field.
