Rethinking tourism entrepreneurship: regeneration, inclusion and local agency
摘要
This article presents a systematic literature review (SLR) on the intersection of entrepreneurship, sustainability, and tourism, focusing on how entrepreneurial dynamics contribute to more resilient, inclusive, and environmentally responsible tourism models. Based on a rigorous screening of peer-reviewed publications from 2020 to 2024, the review identifies key thematic clusters including sustainable business models, community-based tourism, women’s entrepreneurship, innovation in peripheral regions, and regenerative tourism. Using PRISMA protocol and VOSviewer bibliometric mapping, the study reveals both conceptual trends and geographic gaps, notably the underrepresentation of Global South contexts. The analysis highlights the need for more integrative frameworks and interdisciplinary approaches to tourism entrepreneurship. The article concludes by proposing a future research agenda to advance sustainable tourism through entrepreneurial strategies aligned with social equity, ecological stewardship, and long-term value creation.
