Does artificial intelligence improve knowledge sharing?

Nowadays many researchers are facing different issues in many fields due to the limitation of knowledge and experience, such as choosing a research path and research topic. Higher education sector in several countries a lot of technological platforms in order to provide information and knowledge to their academic researchers. One of these platforms is knowledge sharing which can helps researchers to share the researchers’ information and knowledge. Knowledge sharing can also help to increase, improve and create new implicit and explicit knowledge between researchers in academic sectors. The main purpose of this paper is to figure out the influential factors of knowledge sharing that can improve the knowledge sharing in order to enhance scientific research among the researchers. This study first develops a conceptual framework based on an extensive review of the literature to identify the key factors influencing knowledge sharing. Subsequently, the proposed framework is intended to be empirically validated through a survey of Iraqi academics to examine the relationships among these factors. The framework has built base on individual, organizational and technological barriers. However, this study contributes to extend the limitations of previous research on knowledge sharing. Moreover, it focuses on the effect of technological factors such as artificial intelligence, digital technology and cloud computing in knowledge sharing. Knowledge sharing will be done by profiling the attitudes and intentions of knowledge sharing among Iraqi academics, and by outlining their views of the technological factors in order to find out the impact on knowledge sharing activities.
