<p>This study was guided by PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) to categorize and define instructions as follows. PRISMA focused on giving an overview for readers to develop transparency, explanations, and clarity on the specific subject to avoid the risk of unbiased reporting of the systematic reviews (Liberati, BMJ 339, 2009). The internationalization of higher education has appeared and engaged an essential part of students, staff, and professors. This systematic literature review selected 55 relevant research articles based on encoded inclusion measures through an in-depth examination and screening process across various academic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. This systematic literature review examines the internationalization of higher education (IoHE), focusing on trends, opportunities, and challenges. The study overviews the advantages of technological infrastructures in improving academic accomplishment, communication abilities, and global market enthusiasm while admitting educational and technological access challenges. This study describes many trends and opportunities incorporated with the internationalization of higher education, among them, the number of online educational platforms, conferences, seminars, research collaboration with experts, shared research knowledge gains, scholarships, exchange programs, and cross-border education programs, which highlight learning from short and complete courses to improve academic, networking building, and interpersonal skills development. Moreover, the research shows that higher education trends have generated many advantages through multiple materials to make it easier for the aspirant. The prospect of higher education has emerged with several benefits, such as communication with outreach experts and extensive online educational platforms such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). This systematic literature review found that the blessing of technological infrastructures involves better academic achievement, communication skills, quality assurance certificates, open-access publications, fulfilling global market demand, and access to worldwide educational infrastructures. In contrast, some threats are associated with this dimension, such as online bullying, scams, account hacking, misleading and fake information, and cybersecurity. In addition, numerous challenges are linked with the internationalization of higher education, including language barriers, cultural diversity, insufficient budget for development, expensive educational tools and fees, lack of trainer knowledge, and limited authentic educational material for aspirants. As a result, the study reveals that it has often brought some educational and technical challenges for both freshmen and practitioners. However, this study delivers a wide-ranging outline of the up-to-date situations, difficulties for learners, and upcoming guidelines of higher educational institutions (HEIs).</p>
