<p>Climate change impacts like erratic weather patterns, droughts, and floods worsen mental health issues among farmers, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, due to farmers high dependence on agriculture and limited adaptive capacity. While previous studies focused on farmers’ perceptions and adaptation choices, psychological and social dimensions have received limited attention, constraining effective policy responses and progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 13. This study addresses this gap by examining how psychological and social factors influence coping strategies for climate-induced mental health impacts. A survey of 300 farming households in Ghana was conducted using structured questionnaires, and a multinomial logit model was applied to assess the effects of these factors. Common coping strategies included seeking social support (51.7%), participating in farmers’ groups (18.7%), and engaging in religious and relaxation activities (11.0%). The model revealed that age increased the likelihood of seeking social support (β = 0.014, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01) but reduced engagement in stress-reduction activities (β = −0.005, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01). Farming experience decreased the likelihood of using mental health services (β = −0.239, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01). Place attachment discouraged social support (β = −0.178, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01) but promoted stress-reducing strategies (β β = 0.062, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01). Perceived climate risk increased participation in support groups (β = 0.175, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.1) but lowered mental health service use (β = −0.224, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01) and information-seeking (β = −0.491, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01). Cultural beliefs reduced social support (−0.668) but increased substance use (β = 0.159, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01), diversification (β = 0.305, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01), and climate information-seeking (β = 0.288, <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01). The findings revealed the need for community-based awareness campaigns, stress management interventions, and enhanced social support to build resilience.</p>
