摘要

Scholars have researched on the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration change slogan. However, little attention has been paid to governance challenges that made mockery of the change mantra given the fact that it is relatively new. This paper sought to identify key areas where anticipated change were not witnessed by drawing from power politics theory and a broad range of search terms used to extract data. In examining this objective, the paper adopted qualitative method as its methodology and power politics theory as its theoretical framework. Data collected were thematically presented. The paper inter alia revealed that failure to run all-inclusive governance was prevalent under Buhari. Change on the contrary situates the dismal performance of the Nigerian State under President Buhari of APC. Despite assurances of reform, Nigeria witnessed several failures leaving a trail of unmet expectations that demonstrate the ineffectiveness of governance structures. On the paper’s value/originality, we uncovered significant proportions of areas government underperformed by departing from PDP leadership era to the scanty literature regarding APC change mantra under President Buhari through ex-post facto approach.
