<p>Since December 2018, the Palghar district on the north eastern Konkan coast of Maharashtra, India, has been experiencing regular earthquakes. This paper examines the effects of these seismic events on residential structures of the district. The study concentrates on the different kinds of homes, the degree of damage incurred, and the socio-economic elements aggravating the susceptibility of these buildings. We discovered that the regular earthquakes in the Palghar district have greatly affected housing construction, especially those built from non-durable materials. The tribal population's socio-economic limitations further worsen the vulnerability of these homes, therefore causing significant damage and long-term consequences for the occupants. Addressing these issues requires a sustainable multiple strategy approach comprising more financial support for durable homes, community education on earthquake-resistant building methods, and the creation of additional revenue sources to improve financial resilience. Based on both qualitative and quantitative data, we offered recommendations and ideas for reducing disaster risk and ultimately raising the standard of living in the study region.</p>
