摘要

Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute-onset systemic vasculitis that causes coronary artery abnormalities as one of its major complications. KD has surpassed rheumatic heart disease (RHD) as the most common cause of acquired heart disease globally. KD is rapidly emerging as a major pediatric health challenge in India, and early recognition, universal access to treatment, establishment of a national registry, and integration of advanced research insights into clinical practice are essential to mitigate its future public health impact.
