Native to tropical and subtropical regions, this plant is rich in bioactive compounds such as phenolics, flavonoids, tannins, and alkaloids, which are linked to antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Antioxidant activity was assessed using DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP assays, revealing significant radical scavenging potential with low IC<sub>50</sub> values. Nutritional analysis showed high levels of protein, lipids, and essential minerals, including calcium, magnesium, and iron, enhancing its value as a functional food ingredient. Correlations between minerals and phytochemicals emphasized their contribution to antioxidant efficacy and other biological activities. These findings highlight <i>Z. rubens</i> as a nutritionally and pharmacologically valuable species, supporting its role in traditional medicine and its potential for applications in modern therapeutics and nutraceuticals.</p>
