<p>Attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires the interconnection of social, economic, and environmental factors for the establishment of an equitable, secure, and enduring surroundings for everyone. Among the developing economies, India has played a significant role and has an explicit influence on universal strides. Despite of several developmental barriers like large population, poverty, quality education, and weak socio-economic indicators, Indian Government has taken several transformative and determined initiatives for accomplishing the SDGs. According to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Index and Dashboards Report 2023, India attained a spillover score of 99.4, indicating the positive impact of Government strategies on execution of universal sustainability. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the strategic steps taken by the Indian government towards a sustainable and resilient path for the achievement of SDGs. The paper also delivers an overview of Department of Science and Technology (DST) interventions for the achievement of SDG goals in India. The pivotal role of DST in achieving SDG through its diverse array of scientific programs and policies is outlined.</p>
