摘要

Most of the research and development of drugs that promote or inhibit blood vessel formation focuses on the vascular endothelial growth factor, along with other factors. As a result of increased knowledge about marine sources that have many healing characteristics, researchers have obtained substances from many sources, including microorganisms and complex animal systems, for the purpose of studying their ability to promote the growth of blood vessels. The marine biome, renowned for its diverse array of organisms, offers a multitude of opportunities to discover new bioactive compounds with potential for treating various diseases. This diverse group has the potential to greatly contribute to pharmaceutical research. The significant differences between the physical and chemical properties of marine-derived compounds and the human immune system can lead to adverse interactions, potentially causing harmful effects. In vivo toxicology tests are valuable models for studying the human system, as they allow for the replication of dynamic processes. These assays can assist in determining the toxicity threshold of various medications in living organisms. This review focuses on the examination of newly studied anti-angiogenic treatments derived from marine sources. Furthermore, this review discusses toxicological investigations conducted on several animal models under in vivo settings.
